Actually, the PlayStation 5 is only available online, but some retailers have also occasionally offered them in shops.

The PlayStation 5 * has now been on the market for almost half a year. At least in theory – since the release it has been practically impossible to get a PS5. As soon as allotments are released for orders from retailers, they are sold out after just a few minutes. In order to prevent a rush of customers to the stores, Sony’s next-gen console is offered exclusively online. But apparently some happy customers were able to buy a PS5 on site in shops, as well as their colleagues from ingame.de messages.

PS5: is the console now available in stores?

According to the industry portal GamesWirtschaft numerous, new PS5 owners from all over Germany would have contacted them, more or less by chance could get hold of a PS5 in a branch. The dealers would even have different ones Bundles with various games and additional controllers offered. According to some customers, the PS5 was only available in combination with warranty packages, which is why the dealers sometimes asked higher prices for the console. Given the scarcity of the PS5, which is expected to continue into next year, many customers would be willing to pay a small extra charge. This is still cheaper than with some third-party providers, for example at Amazon, who charge more than twice as much.

Can you now assume that the PS5 will be permanently available in stores? Rather not. Nevertheless, it can be worthwhile to stop by a branch. The following dealers are Sony trading partners and may have a PS5 available on site:

  • Conrad
  • Euronics
  • Expert
  • GameStop
  • Media Markt
  • Medimax
  • Mueller
  • MyToys
  • Otto
  • Saturn
  • Smythstoys

PS5 sales in electronics stores ended in chaos

It is understandable that the traders don’t make big announcements regarding a brick and mortar trade. In Japan, an electronics store came up with the idea, which ultimately ended in real chaos that had to be ended by the police. Especially in times of the coronavirus pandemic, such crowds are very dangerous. (Ök) * tz.de and ingame.de are offers from IPPEN.MEDIA.

Interesting too: PS5: This dealer only sells the Playstation 5 to real gaming fans.
