Even if the corona numbers are increasing dramatically: Federal Chancellor Sebastian Kurz speaks of a successful model that gives us a little more freedom.
“Everyone can be tested free of charge in Austria – please go and test them regularly too!”
The 7-day incidence has now risen to over 250. As a reminder: it should be 50 for easing steps, that was targeted at the beginning of the year. In the eastern region there will now be an “Easter rest” from April 1st: the trade closes, the exit restrictions come into force again around the clock and the body-related services must also be stopped. In addition, the obligation to wear an FFP2 mask has been expanded – sometimes also outdoors.
But there is still a light at the end of the tunnel, says Federal Chancellor Sebastian Kurz (ÖVP). “All the testing is the reason why we experience a little more freedom than many of our neighboring countries,” Kurz said in a speech in the National Council. “We took steps to open it six weeks ago and we succeeded in preventing the growth in the number of infections from growing explosively and experts agree: The main reason for this is that we test more in Austria than most other countries in the world.”
The Chancellor described the testing as a “model of success” for the country. “Everyone can be tested free of charge in Austria – please check back regularly!”, So Kurz on his Facebook profile. His thanks go to the heroes of the crisis: “I would like to thank everyone. I would like to thank the doctors, the pharmacists, the federal states, and all the volunteers who work on the test roads.”
