Corona in MV: 108 new infections and one further death | – news

In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the authorities have registered 108 new corona infections since Saturday. There was another death. The incidence value rose to 106.3 nationwide.

The number of registered new corona infections has risen by 108 cases in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania since Saturday (as of Sunday 3:17 p.m.). That is 26 infections more than on Sunday a week ago. Overall, the State Office for Health and Social Affairs (LAGuS) reported 29,890 infections in the country since March 2020. According to an estimate by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), 25,998 (+181) of the people who tested positive in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania have recovered from Covid 19 disease. The number of deaths in the northeast is 847 (+1). As a rule, the numbers are lower on weekends because fewer Covid-19 cases are reported to the RKI than on other days of the week. According to the LAGuS, as of Friday, 218,809 vaccine doses have been administered in the northeast. According to this, 149,104 people received a first vaccination (vaccination rate 9.27 percent), 69,705 also the second (vaccination rate 4.33 percent).

The incidence value in MV is 106.3

Nationwide, the incidence value rose from 103.2 to 106.3 infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week compared to the previous day. However, it is still well below the national average (129.7). On Sunday a week ago, the offices in the northeast still recorded an incidence of 73.3. In the Ludwigslust-Parchim district, the seven-day incidence value is currently 176.1, and 126.5 in the northwest Mecklenburg district. The district of Vorpommern-Greifswald has an incidence value of 124.8. The LAGuS reports a value of 105.4 for the Mecklenburg Lake District, 89.0 for the Rostock and 84.6 for Western Pomerania-Rügen. In Schwerin the authorities register an incidence of 75.3 and in the Hanseatic city of Rostock of 56.4.

Currently 242 people with Covid-19 in the hospital

According to the latest figures from the LAGuS and the Ministry of Health, 242 (-3) people across the country are currently being treated for Covid 19 in a hospital, 64 (+3) of them are in intensive care. According to the intensive care register, 34 (-6) Covid-19 patients are ventilated invasively. The register shows 489 occupied and 128 free intensive care beds for Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (as of Sunday 3:19 p.m.).

30 new infections in the lake district

According to the LAGuS, most of the infected were or are in the district of Vorpommern-Greifswald with 7,017 (+18) infections so far. In the Mecklenburg Lake District there are a total of 6,014 (+30) cases. So far there have been 4,803 (+9) infections in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district. 2,901 (+6) infections were reported in the Rostock district. In the district of Northwest Mecklenburg, the authorities registered 2,756 (+1) people who were verifiably infected with the corona virus. The LAGuS reports 2,639 (+29) cases for the district of Vorpommern-Rügen. The state capital Schwerin continues to have the lowest total numbers with 1,967 (+1) and the Hanseatic city of Rostock with 1,793 (+14) cases.

30 Infections in daycare centers and after-school care centers

The LAGuS also publishes figures on the situation in old people’s homes as well as in schools and daycare centers. Accordingly, as of Friday there are active infection events in 26 geriatric care facilities (+3). 199 residents (+4) and 114 employees (+9) are affected. There are also active infection events at 27 daycare centers and after-school care centers (+5). 28 children (+4) and 26 educators and employees (+6) are affected. There are also active infection events at 39 schools (+14). Nine teachers or employees (+4) and 42 students (+14) are affected.

Who does the statistics capture?

The LAGuS’s daily corona statistics only include people who have their primary residence in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The LAGuS also publishes regular reports on infections among guests. These are all those people who have been found to be infected in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, but who do not have a primary residence in the state.
