Are we heading for a third wave?
The corona virus is spreading more rapidly in the canton of Zurich. The 7-day average is increasing daily; it is currently 312 new infections. That is 27 percent more than a week ago. Similar average values were available at the end of January. However, the number of cases has not increased as quickly as in autumn at the beginning of the second wave.
This development is also putting pressure on the Zurich contact tracing team. “The number of calls on the contact tracing hotline has risen again over the thousand mark per day after a month ago between 225 and 500 people reported daily on the hotline,” says a spokesman for the health department.
