There is apparently a result at the Coronavirus East Summit – there will be tightening of the CoV provisions. Which one is not yet known. In Upper Austria, meanwhile, a test bus is being used with immediate effect in order to be able to test for new CoV infections precisely in different locations.
After some cities, the country is now also using a test bus to get an idea of the infection rate. The start is on Thursday in Wartberg an der Krems, on Friday the state’s test bus is in the municipality of Nussbach, both places in the Kirchdorf district. Because it currently has a 7-day incidence of 387.
With this test bus it is possible to react even more quickly to the accumulation of cases, say Governor Thomas Stelzer and health officer Christine Haberlander (both ÖVP). Both appeal to the population to take advantage of this opportunity. Read more in the state of Upper Austria is now also using Testbus (ooe.ORF.at).
Tightening in the east of Austria
Due to the excessive stress caused by the increase in CoV patients in the intensive care units in eastern Austria, there will be new measures. Health Minister Rudolf Anschober (Greens) and the governors of Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland agreed on this after hours of talks. Details on the tightening should be announced later in the day. Read more in CoV tightening in the east fix (news.ORF.at)
Meanwhile, the 7-day incidence in Austria continues to rise. It currently stands at 243 people who are infected with the coronavirus within 7 days per 100,000 inhabitants. In Upper Austria this value is 212 on Wednesday.
