Upper Austria. From March 27th to March 28th, 420 new Covid-19 infections were reported by the state of Upper Austria, after 539 the previous day. A total of 4,622 Upper Austrians are currently infected. In view of the increasing numbers, the hospital beds were also increased in Upper Austria from Saturday, March 27th.

The number of current Covid-19 cases in Upper Austria is 4,622 on March 28, 5 p.m., after 4,874 the previous day. A total of 97,802 reported cases have so far been recorded in Upper Austria (including recovered and deceased people). The number of people in quarantine was 12,144 as of March 28.

By far the most cases in absolute numbers were also recorded on March 28th, as of 5 p.m., in the Vöcklabruck district with 617 cases, after 660 on the previous day. The Braunau district has 508 active cases (previous day 500), the Linz-Land district 411 (previous day 463) and the city of Linz 399 (previous day 423). All other districts and cities are currently below the 400 mark.

Most cases per 100,000 inhabitants are currently in the Braunau district with 481, ahead of the Vöcklabruck district with 449, the Kirchdorf district with 443, Wels-Stadt with 435 and the Freistadt district with 411. All other districts and cities are currently below the 400- Brand.

420 new positive cases, action in high incidence counties (March 28)

From March 27th to March 28th at noon, 420 new positive cases were reported in Upper Austria, after 539 cases the previous day.

Corona tests carried out in Upper Austria, positive rate at 0.28 percent

On March 27, a total of 24,262 corona tests (PCR + antigen) were carried out in Upper Austria (excluding pharmacies and businesses).

Positive cases in schools (March 28)

There are currently 253 Upper Austria. School locations (previous day 268) affected by Covid-19: 506 students (previous day 542), 51 teachers (previous day 50) and twelve people (previous day 13), who are part of the other school staff, have tested positive for Covid-19 (status : March 27, 2021).

Situation in the old people’s and nursing homes (March 28)

Currently, 23 employees and ten residents in 19 Upper Austrian retirement and nursing homes have tested positive for Covid-19. There were no changes compared to the previous day (as of March 27, 2021).
