Spangenberg / Kassel (dpa / lhe) – After a woman’s corpse was found in the Schwalm-Eder district, the 24-year-old suspect was transferred to Germany on Friday. The man was provisionally taken to a closed psychiatric clinic by order of the Kassel judge, the police and public prosecutor said on Friday. There are indications that the man is mentally ill.
The 53-year-old woman was found dead on March 11th in an apartment building in Spangenberg. After an autopsy, it is clear to the investigators that the woman has fallen victim to a violent crime. Only a few days after the find, the suspicion against the 24-year-old roommate was confirmed. He initially fled to the Netherlands, but probably turned himself in due to the pressure of the police in The Hague. A European arrest warrant was issued after his arrest on March 16. The police did not initially disclose why the man was suspicious.
