In the second individual ski flying competition in Planica (SLO), Daniel Huber was on Friday as Ninth best Austrian.
The competition had to be canceled after the first round due to long delays caused by strongly changing winds. The victory went to Karl Geiger (GER), who was able to prevail against Ryoyu Kobayashi (JPN) and Bor Pavlovcic (SLO).
The second best ÖSV eagle was yesterday’s fourth Michael Hayböck. In difficult conditions, the Upper Austrian did not go beyond 215 meters and had to be content with 14th place in today’s competition. With Markus Schiffner, who flew 217.5 meters and thus finished 24th, and world record holder Stefan Kraft in 29th place (215.5 meters), two more ÖSV-Adler World Cup points were able to collect.
Tomorrow, Saturday, the team competition is on the program in Planica. It starts at 10:00 a.m. and ORF1 is broadcasting live.
Daniel Huber: “The placement is basically okay, but I’m not that happy with my jump. There would have been a lot inside for me today, which is of course a shame, but I’m still happy that my last three flights were all at a consistently good level and I can build on that. ”
Michael Hayboeck: “It was difficult in these conditions and I noticed in the air that there was a lot of wind coming from the side. So it wasn’t a pleasure today. I hope that tomorrow the conditions will be more stable again and then I’m looking forward to the next flights. ”
