Degen’s message to Burgener – the tug-of-war for power at FCB is coming to a head – sport

The power struggle at FC Basel is entering the next round. On Saturday evening David Degen spoke up on Instagram: «I was in Bernhard Burgener’s office this week. I brought him one of my FCB shirts and made it clear to him that it wasn’t about him or me, but about FC Basel. ”

The former Swiss international has also published a picture of a letter addressed to Burgener. In it Degen demands from the VR President: “Make the right decision! Also for you personally. It’s time.”

Burgener is waiting

The ex-FCB professional currently owns 10 percent of FC Basel Holding AG. In addition, since 2019 he has had a right of first refusal to purchase a further 35 percent of the shares.
