You can actually rely on the app stores to review and approve apps. But the Google Play Store can also be fooled. You have to delete these nine Android apps.

If you are a user of an Android device, whether smartphone or tablet, you should check whether you are using one of the applications that security researchers are currently warning of urgently. On Tuesday, March 9th, 2021, the CheckPoint blog published a list of programs that pose a serious malware threat. That’s why you should get the Delete Android apps.

Delete Android apps: malware was hidden

The security researchers at Checkpoint Security explain in their blog post that they discovered the malware “Clast82” in nine applications. This was so well hidden in the apps by cyber criminals that even the security mechanisms of the Google Play Store could not recognize it. The malware should remain inactive until it has actually been downloaded from the store and installed by the user. The app then downloads banking Trojans in the background. Including unloved acquaintances like the AlienBot Banker and MRAT. These are known to spy on users’ bank details and pass them on to the fraudsters.

Therefore, the security experts, who have already reported their findings to Google, advise deleting these nine Android apps:

  • eVPN
  • Cake VPN
  • BeatPlayer
  • QRecorder
  • Pacific VPN
  • QR/Bacode Scanner Max
  • Music Player
  • tooltipnatorlibrary

Find the malicious Android apps

According to Checkpoint Security, Google has already removed the affected Android apps from the Google Play Store. However, since it is unavoidable that the developers resubmit the apps or users are still using the applications on their devices, you should delete the Android apps immediately. The easiest way to find a dangerous app is if the email address “[email protected]” appears in the app description under the contact details for the developer. All of the Android apps mentioned should come from this address.

You should also be careful of these Android apps. But not all applications in the Google Play Store are dangerous. These programs are considered to be the best Android apps according to Google.
