Race stewards update: Joan Mir was fined

Joan Mir broke the rules in qualifying. The Suzuki driver left the pit lane in Q1 when the traffic light was still red. As a consequence, the first lap time is canceled. That has no effect because he set his personal best later. There is also a fine of 1,000 euros.

In Moto2, Jake Dixon is relegated three places on the grid because he behaved irresponsibly. That was the scene in which he slowed down and then returned to the racing line. At that moment his team-mate Xavi Vierge arrived with more speed and drove Dixon to the rear wheel.

In Moto3, Darryn Binder can keep his pole position. There was a contact during an overtaking maneuver against Jaume Masia. The race management did not issue a penalty.

Fabio Quartararo: “Good potential for the race”

Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha / 2.): “It’s a shame I didn’t have another try. The checkered flag came a little early. Still, I’m happy, we managed a good lap. In fourth free practice we tried something that was bad. I didn’t feel good Well.”

“But we have good potential for tomorrow. I will use the bike that I have ridden now. We may have changed too much on the bike today. But we did a good job in qualifying. Now the only thing missing is the race. “

Maverick Vinales (Yamaha/3.): “I’m very happy. Our goal was the front row. On my last lap it was kind of dirty at Turn 1, so I didn’t push as I wanted. But I managed a 1: 53.0 and I’m happy with that. ”

“The bike worked really well this afternoon. I really enjoyed the fourth free practice session. But we can still improve. Overall, we’re already very fast. Congratulations to the team, we’re ready for tomorrow.”
