“Earth Hour” – WWF reports record attendance in Germany

Yesterday evening, numerous cities and municipalities in Germany took part in this year’s “Earth Hour” for more climate protection.

The lights went out for one hour at 8:30 p.m. at the Brandenburg Gate, Neuschwanstein Castle and the Dresden Frauenkirche. 575 municipalities and 448 companies also took part. It was the 15th event of its kind worldwide.

With the “Earth Hour”, the environmental foundation World Wide Fund For Nature – WWF – wants to set an example for climate and environmental protection. The darkness is supposed to indicate the waste of resources and make people rethink.

This message was broadcast on March 28th, 2021 on Deutschlandfunk.
