“Earth Hour” – WWF reports record attendance in Germany

At this year’s so-called “Earth Hour” for more climate protection there was a record attendance in Germany in the evening.

For one hour at 8:30 p.m., the lights went out not only at the Brandenburg Gate, Neuschwanstein Castle and Dresden Frauenkirche, explained the WWF. 575 cities and municipalities as well as 448 companies took part. It was the 15th event of its kind worldwide.

Lights out in Russia too

In New Zealand, during the so-called “Earth Hour”, the observation and telecommunications tower in Auckland and the parliament in the capital Wellington were in the dark. Numerous other famous buildings in countries in the Asia-Pacific region were also part of the campaign. Russia was also there. The outside lights at the Kremlin in Moscow went out for an hour.
