Even after 25 years, Windows 95 apparently still has surprises in store. The user Albacore discovered an Easter egg and published a video of it on Twitter.

The Easter Egg is hidden in the “Microsoft Internet Mail and News” program. This was preinstalled in Windows 95. After starting the program, open the “About” window in the help menu.

Now you have to mark one of the DLL files displayed there and type in the word “Mortimer”. A window pops up through which the names of the programmers scroll.

Albacore should be the first to discover this Easter Egg. At least it does not appear in generic articles with known Windows 95 Easter eggs.

For your viewing pleasure

One of the most famous Easter Eggs of the operating system shows all developers. To do this, a folder must be named one after the other as follows: “and now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for”, “we proudly present for your viewing pleasure” and “The Microsoft Windows 95 Product Team!”

If you feel like rummaging around in Windows 95, you can do so in your browser on the Internet Archive website. Alternatively, Windows 95 is also available as a Windows 10 app for download.
