Enics is toying with the relocation of 125 jobs abroad. The electronics company announced that the employee representatives were invited to a consultation process. According to the trade unions Unia, Syna, Anarbeiter Schweiz and Kaufmännischer Verband as well as the Enics Switzerland personnel committee, nine apprenticeship positions are also to be eliminated. The dismantling is tantamount to a further weakening of the industrial location Aargau.
In the consultation process, the Personnel Commission and the trade unions would work to save jobs. They also appeal to the cantonal authorities to take a decisive stand for the threatened areas and the Aargau industrial location.
Specialized in smaller quantities
According to its own information, Enics plans to continue to have a strong presence in Switzerland. The planned Swiss office will focus on technical advice, life cycle management, service and sales.
The plant in Turgi is currently specialized in the industrialization, production and support of products with a large number of variants in small and medium-sized quantities as well as in life cycle management and complex system assembly. Enics is active in the fields of energy, industrial automation, transportation, building automation and instrumentation. (pbe / SDA)
