Errors in the Android operating system can crash many apps

Numerous apps crash continuously, including Google’s Gmail email program. As technology portals reported on Tuesday, a process called “Android System WebView” is causing the problems. Google confirmed the bug on Monday evening (local time) and delivered an update on Tuesday to fix the bug.

On Twitter, Google recommended affected users to search for “Android System WebView” in the Play Store and update the app. According to Google, the browser app “Chrome” will also be updated if an update is available.

Android apps can usually display web content via WebView. Since a failed WebView update, the Google program running in the background has caused many apps to crash. In addition to Gmail, GMX or Amazon and many bank apps are also affected.
