Rafinha spent around 13 years of his career in Germany. But the Brazilian has not settled down since he left FC Bayern. Now he has found a new club again.
The long-time Bundesliga professional Rafinha (35) is moving back to his home country according to media reports. As reported by the Brazilian news portal “UOL” and the sports portal “Globoesporte” on Saturday evening, Gremio Porto Alegre made Rafinha’s commitment clear at the insistence of coach Renato Portaluppi. This should have wished for an experienced player for the right side of the defense.
Third club since Bayern left
According to reports, the Brazilian, who played for the German record champions FC Bayern Munich from 2011 to 2019, will receive a contract with Gremio until the end of the year. Rafinha’s ex-club Flamengo Rio de Janeiro had recently officially left negotiations.
Rafinha had only moved from Flamengo to Olympiacos Piraeus in August 2020. He dissolved the contract with the Greek first division club in February. In the meantime, there was speculation about a return to the Bundesliga for FC Schalke 04.
For Rafinha, it is already the third club since he left FC Bayern in 2019. He had previously played for the same number of clubs in 14 years.
