Fabraz’s Demon Turf is coming to consoles and PC this summer in partnership with Playtonic Friends

Just a few weeks after Playtonic Friends lifted the lid on its first foray into the world of publishing, Playtonic Friends and its development partner Fabraz are delighted with the release of the extraordinary 3D platformer Demon Turf.

In the role of Beebz, a demon only 1000 years old, players have to recapture the numerous “turfs” of the demon world, defeat the demon king and claim the throne for themselves.
Demon Turf, which streamed during on Friday [email protected] unveiled, brings a truly fresh take on the platform genre with its hybrid 2D / 3D art style, a world of humor and style, punk attitude, and an incredible focus on replayability and ever-evolving challenges.

But don’t take our word for it – try it now!
Every week the Fabraz team presents a brand new “demo” of the game on Steam. It’s just not a demo in the usual sense – Demon Turf Trials offers a new challenge and a new leaderboard that players can climb. Those who make it to the top of the leaderboard will be immortalized with a personal portrait in the main game (and receive a limited edition t-shirt that is only intended for winners)! Trials also offers a full tutorial and two full main levels of full game. Play everything for free!

Demon Turf is a one-of-a-kind offering that focuses on community and replayability – beyond the weekly Demon Turf Trials, the full game will also include:

  • Self-Placed Checkpoints – Show off without them for a perfect run, or place one in preparation for a challenging section. You can even teleport between these checkpoints if you’ve missed a collectible along the way!
  • Return Levels – a brand new way to progress. Make a round of victory and explore levels already defeated to discover your liberated state, with many mechanical and environmental changes to uncover
  • Physics-controlled combat – How do you defeat the demon hordes when none of your own attacks are really lethal? A special physics-controlled combat system that increases the chaos and fun. Push, pull and hurl your enemies out of the way and tumble off cliffs or into spikes.
  • Mouthwashing amount of side content – 50 special locations / characters lining the walls of an empty gallery. Fight 25 arena challenges worth waves of enemies. Complete 10 demon soccer golf courses with bizarre ball sliding puzzles. Collect 8 cartridges to unlock remixed levels from glorious 3D platformers of the past.

Fabian Rastorfer, Game Lead and Artist at Fabraz, comments: “I’ve always wanted to develop a 3D platform. It’s always been my favorite genre as I grew up playing all the big name platformer on pretty much every console! With our 2D platformer, Slime-san, we received a lot of praise for what we put into 2D precision platforming, so we really wanted to see if we could put the spirit that made Slime-san so great into one 3D platformer can transmit ”.

“Demon Turf was one of the titles that led us to create our new publishing arm,” added Gavin Price, CEO of Playtonic. “Our goal has always been to work with the developers who make the kind of games we love to play or wish we’d made first, and that’s exactly how we felt when we were Slime-san played for the first time.

Demon Turf will be coming to PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One & Series S / X in Summer 2021 – check out the latest Demon Turf Trials Challenge every Thursday!

By far the youngest and newest member of the editorial team. He’s been playing since the Gameboy Advance…. (As I said, by far the youngest). It really started with the PlayStation2, but then stayed true to the brand.
