Vaccinations by general practitioners and specialists
Merkel and the country leaders are said to have already agreed on measures to accelerate the corona vaccination campaign in Germany. According to information from ARD capital studios It is planned to allow vaccinations against the coronavirus from the end of March or from the beginning of April at the latest in many practices of general practitioners and specialists. So far, vaccinations have mainly been carried out in specially set up test centers because some vaccines have to be stored separately.
Before the consultations, Vice Chancellor Olaf Scholz also spoke out in favor of loosening the corona restrictions for vaccinated people “quickly”. “Now that initial studies suggest that vaccinated people no longer transmit the virus diseases and thus do not pose a risk of infection, we should next discuss which restrictions can be removed for this group,” said the SPD politician of the “Süddeutsche Zeitung”. “I can well imagine that the vaccination certificate can be used like a negative rapid test.” In this way, access to cultural institutions or restaurants can be made easier.
New task force for the procurement of rapid tests
In order to allow further relaxation, the federal government had also announced that it would offer free rapid tests to all citizens. However, there should be problems in obtaining these tests. According to information from ARD capital studios therefore the federal and state governments want to set up a joint task force to accelerate procurement and distribution.
At the same time as the Bund-Länder Round, the opposition in the Bundestag sharply attacked the government’s actions. The left-wing health politician Achim Kessler called on the government: “Finally stop driving on sight.” The Green health expert Janosch Dahmen asked for a “safety railing” as a prerequisite for openings. To do this, all positive corona tests nationwide would have to be examined for more contagious virus variants. Comprehensive and regular quick and self-tests should become “common property” – not just in April.
