In Florida, USA, a woman was missing for three weeks. Now firefighters have rescued the 43-year-old from a sewer pipe. She was stuck there naked for weeks.
The American Lyndsey Kennedy was reported missing three weeks ago. Naked, traumatized and with bruised knees, they rescued rescue workers from a sewer pipe in Delray Beach, Florida.
The 43-year-old was stuck there until a passer-by heard someone shouting for help from the sewer on Tuesday. The firefighters were able to save Kennedy from the sewer by removing the rain grids and lowering a ladder to her.
“To think that someone is trapped down there alone for so long is disturbing,” said Dani Moschella of the Delray Beach Fire Department to the Tampa Bay newspaper.
She could no longer stand on her feet
The woman couldn’t stand any longer than she was found. She went swimming in a neighborhood canal on March 3 and then came across a mysterious door that led to a tunnel. Then Kennedy’s curiosity grabbed her and she pursued the mystery. Shortly thereafter, she lost her orientation and could no longer find the exit.
She had been running around in the sewers for almost three weeks before she saw the light again and could call for help. According to Kennedy’s mother, she has a mental illness and is a drug user. She said her daughter makes rash decisions when she is on drugs.
