Germany and Norway have reached an agreement with the Thyssen Krupp group to buy a total of six submarines.
The defense ministry said the negotiations took three years. The purchase will help strengthen the security and defense industry in Germany. According to this, Norway will acquire four submarines and two will be delivered to Germany. According to the online portal “Business Insider”, Norway pays around 4.4 billion euros, the costs for Germany have not yet been announced.
The ministry announced that the submarines should be available from 2029 and improve cooperation within NATO.
