Grubauer does not rule out participation in the World Cup for Germany

Denver –

Goalkeeper Philipp Grubauer does not completely rule out participation in the ice hockey world championship. “The goal is also clearly the Stanley Cup,” said the German in the DEL podcast “Eiskalt to the point”.

Grubauer is in the National Hockey League (NHL) at Colorado Avalanche in goal. Above all, he and his team are working towards a good performance in the playoffs, as the 29-year-old from Rosenheim emphasized. “If it doesn’t work out, I’ll be the first who likes to play for Germany at the World Cup”.

The ice hockey world championship is scheduled to take place in Riga from May 21st to June 6th. The main round in the NHL ends on May 10th. In 2019, Grubauer only joined coach Toni Söderholm’s World Cup squad when he was eliminated with Colorado in the battle for the Stanley Cup.
