Played in 2005 Jake Gyllenhaal starred in Sam Mendes Iraq war film JARHEAD, now he’s starring in COMBAT CONTROL and plays the real Air Force technician John Chapman, who was awarded the Medal of Honor in 2018 for his actions on a mission that has long been classified as secret – posthumously, since Chapman died on March 4, 2002 during the deployment.

Sam Hargrave staged

COMBAT CONTROL is directed by Sam Hargrave, who most recently directed Chris Hemsworth in TYLER RAKE: EXTRACTION.

It took over a decade after Chapman’s death for the truth to emerge. It fell to Air Force Capt. Cora Alexander to investigate the battle and see if Chapman was worthy of the medal. So the film is not just about Chapman, but also about Alexander. No actress has yet been hired for this role.

The script is based on the book “Alone at Dawn“By Dan Schilling and Lori Chapman Longfritz. It was written by Michael Russell Gunn. Schilling works as a consultant.
