“A large spread of Corona in the population overwhelms the hospitals and extends the path to openings, restaurants and holidays.”

A look at neighboring countries shows how high the incidence could rise and what severe restrictions would then be necessary.

Kretschmer also warned against relying too much on rapid tests.

“I think it is right to make negative rapid tests a prerequisite for openings. However, rapid tests are not a panacea.”
