On the last day of the 2020/21 season, the ski jumpers in Chaikovsky (RUS) had to fight the wind again and so the last competition of the winter ended after just one round. The victory went to Marita Kramer once more.

The Austrian showed an outstanding jump on 146.5 m and celebrated her fifth victory in a row with 136.1 points. The 19-year-old won all four individual competitions of the Blue Bird Tour in Nizhny Tagil and Chaikovsky and secured the overall victory with 869.4 points.

Second place went to the Norwegian Silje Opseth with 134 m and 120.1 points, Nika Kriznar from Slovenia jumped 131.5 m on the HS 140 hill and secured third place with 115.4 points.

Sara Takanashi only finished seventh today, so the Japanese lost the battle for the big crystal ball.

Third place in the final was enough for Nika Kriznar today to secure victory in the overall World Cup. “This is the best day of my life, it’s unbelievable, I’m so happy. I felt strong before the competition today and my jump was really good,” said the Slovenian after the great success.

The 21-year-old won the title with 871 points, just 9 points ahead of Sara Takanashi and 11 points ahead of Marita Kramer.

“My jump today was okay, the others were just better. I am satisfied with the result,” said Takanashi, who narrowly missed her fifth overall World Cup victory. Marita Kramer was also very satisfied with her season: “Before the season, my goal was to get into the top 3 and I managed that. Winning the Blue Bird Tour is the perfect end to the season for me.”
