Third place in the final was enough for Nika Kriznar today to secure victory in the overall World Cup. “This is the best day of my life, it’s unbelievable, I’m so happy. I felt strong before the competition today and my jump was really good,” said the Slovenian after the great success.
The 21-year-old won the title with 871 points, just 9 points ahead of Sara Takanashi and 11 points ahead of Marita Kramer.
“My jump today was okay, the others were just better. I am satisfied with the result,” said Takanashi, who narrowly missed her fifth overall World Cup victory. Marita Kramer was also very satisfied with her season: “Before the season, my goal was to get into the top 3 and I managed that. Winning the Blue Bird Tour is the perfect end to the season for me.”
