Thomas Gottschalk (70) will be the juror for the last two live shows for “Deutschland sucht den Superstar”. The former moderator of “Wetten dass …?” becomes the successor of Dieter Bohlen (67). Gottschalk said the following to the TV broadcaster RTL, which is responsible for the casting show:
«RTL asked me and I agreed spontaneously. Firstly, one titan won’t let the other down and, secondly, I had nothing better to do. ” Dieter Bohlen had to cancel the last live shows of the current season due to illness. It is the last season after around 20 years in which the pop titan Dieter Bohlen has sat on the DSDS jury.
It was also assumed that Bohlen RTL had become too expensive. Bohlen received 2.5 million euros for the 2020 season. An amount that RTL was no longer willing to pay. But Bohlen asked for even more money. It has “worn out”, wrote users on Twitter. In the run-up, Schlager bard Florian Silbereisen was also traded as a possible replacement for Bohlen.
