For the first time in her long music career, Maite Kelly made it to the top of the German album charts, leaving international stars like Sting and Justin Bieber behind.

Maite Kelly is happy about her top position
“Who would have thought that I, the ‘fat little maite’, would be able to go home as a solo artist with an album number 1, over 25 years after first place with ‘Over The Hump’,” said Kelly happily in a press release . The singer dedicates her “Number 1 Award” to a very special person: “I can see my papa dancing in heaven. Thank you!”
Before Sting, Bieber and the Schlager pilots
The entire top five of the album charts this week consists of newcomers. In second place is Sting (69) with “Duets”, Lana Del Rey (35) grabs the three with “Chemtrails Over The Country Club”, Justin Bieber’s (27) long player “Justice” wins the four and Die Schlagerpiloten land with “Lady Jamaica – The Most Beautiful Hits of Summer” in fifth place.
Nathan Evans (26) remains in the singles charts with “Wellerman” on the throne, while Bausa (31) and Apache 207 (23) hold the two with “Madonna”. Ufo 361 (32) and Rin (26) board the Drei and “Friday” by Riton & Nightcrawlers feat. Mufasa & Hypeman takes fourth place. Masked Wolf completes the top five with “Astronaut In The Ocean”.
