Gesture of protest against the military regime: protesters in Yangon raise three fringers of the right hand.

Myanmar’s army, the Tatmadaw, celebrated “Armed Forces Day” on Saturday. The generals wanted to show their power with a large parade in the capital, Naypyidaw. The junta chief vowed that the military would protect the people.

On the same day, protests against the February 1 military coup in 40 cities across the country killed at least 91 people. It was the deadliest day since the coup of military ruler Min Aung Hlaing. The day before, 30 people had been killed.
