New body variant for everyday suitability
With the Cross Turismo, Porsche is introducing a new body variant of the Taycan. The car looks longer than the limousine, but is practically the same size. Above all, it offers more space inside for people and material as well as increased ground clearance and more comfort.
The four engines are called Taycan 4 Cross Turismo, Taycan 4S Cross Turismo, Taycan Turbo Cross Turismo and Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo. A rear-wheel drive version like the Taycan does not exist, at least initially. Conversely, the Taycan 4 Cross Turismo engine is new, which is not offered on the normal Taycan.
All variants have the well-known electric drive with an 800-volt battery. The larger of the two batteries, the “Performance Battery Plus” with 93 kWh, is standard. The ranges are around 400 to 450 kilometers.
The Cross Turismo has a longer, flatter roofline, which gives the rear occupants a little more headroom. The cargo space is also larger, with a capacity of 446 to 1,212 liters. A roof transport system and a bicycle rack for the rear are optionally available for bulky items.
Fender flares, special rocker panels, other aprons and a 20 millimeter higher ground clearance distinguish the Taycan Cross Turismo from the sedan. All Cross Turismo variants also offer a gravel mode that raises the chassis by 10 millimeters and makes the dampers more comfortable.
Prices start at 93,635 euros, the prices of the more powerful versions are not yet known. The market launch is in summer 2021. To complement the Taycan Cross Turismo, Porsche is launching two e-bikes, one for the road with a carbon frame and one with the nickname Cross. Both wheels are available in three sizes and will be available from Porsche dealers from spring.
