For the first time in TV history, two broadcasters share the broadcasting rights to Formula 1. After the race in Bahrain, it will be the turn of ORF (Imola GP) on April 18. Both broadcasters will show the Austrian Grand Prix in Spielberg on July 4th.
Until further notice, all broadcasters are prohibited from physically attending the races. Servus TV will broadcast the Grand Prix from Bahrain on Sunday at 5 p.m. from the new studio in Salzburg. Commentator is Andreas Gröbl, experts at his side are Nico Hülkenberg, Christian Klien and Philipp Eng. The race weekend will be moderated by Andrea Schlager.
The ORF bridges the “race-free” time with the new format “Motorhome”, which brings a detailed analysis after the race at 7:05 pm. The format, in which viewers can also ask questions, is commented on by Ernst Hausleitner and Alexander Wurz.
The team of experts has been expanded and consists of the (former) racing drivers Robert Lechner, Ferdinand Habsburg, Corinna Kamper and Bianca Steiner.
Ernst Hausleitner: “Of course I’m a little sad that we can no longer show every race, but the most important thing is that the fans can continue to watch Formula 1 on free TV.”
