Navigates with Live View for interiors
We all know the moment when you suddenly realize you are walking in the wrong direction by mistake – Live View uses AR cues to avoid exactly that. Live View is powered by a technology called Global Localization, which uses AI to scan tens of billions of Street View shots to understand what to look for on the go. Thanks to new developments that help to determine the exact height and placement of objects within a building, Live View can now also be used in buildings where you can quickly lose track of things: in airports, train stations and shopping centers, writes Google. Live View can help you find the nearest elevator and escalators, the correct gate, platform, baggage claim, check-in or ticket counter, restrooms, ATMs, and more. Arrows and accompanying hints show you the right way.
Plan ahead with more information about weather and air quality
With the new map details on the weather, you can quickly see the current and predicted temperature and weather conditions in an area – you will never have to stand in the rain without an umbrella again. What a pity. And the new map detail on air quality shows how clean (or polluted) the air is – information that is particularly helpful for allergy sufferers. Data from partners such as The Weather Company, AirNow.gov and the Central Pollution Board flow into these map details, which will be rolled out on Android and iOS in the coming months. The map detail on the weather will be available worldwide, the information on air quality will initially be introduced in Australia, India and the USA, with other countries to follow.
With the new weather map details, you can see the current and predicted temperature and weather conditions in an area. But the air quality is also displayed.
