Rankweil In mid-March, the federal government decided on a new package of measures to support the catering and tourism and leisure industries. It essentially provides three types of support for the businesses concerned.
Short-time working bonus. Short-time work creates vacation entitlements for employees and incurs costs. Companies that have been continuously affected by the closure since November should receive a one-off payment of up to 825 euros net per employee for March in addition to the respective short-time work contribution. It can be used to pay off vacation entitlements.
Tip replacement. In the catering industry, tips are an essential part of the salary of employees, which has been omitted due to the closings. Employees who were affected by a tip flat rate should now receive a one-off tip replacement amounting to 175 euros net.
Failure bonus. Every company that suffers at least 40 percent loss of sales in the period from November 2020 to June 2021 can apply for a loss bonus of 15 percent of the loss of sales.
To support the sectors particularly affected, this default bonus will be increased to 30 percent in March. In addition, the upper limit for this bonus is to be raised from EUR 30,000 to EUR 50,000. A bonus of up to 80,000 euros can be applied for in March together with the advance payment for the “fixed cost subsidy 800,000”. The application can be submitted from April 16, 2020 via Finanzonline.
