Police spokesman after the riots in St.Gallen: “There is evidence that participants in one of the illegal parties were out for violence from the start”

The police will occupy several weeks dealing with the riots in the night from Friday to Saturday in the old town of St. Whether and how many criminal charges there will be is open. Some of the rioting participants in an illegal party in the Bleicheli were apparently intent on violence from the start.

After illegal parties at Drei Weieren and in Bleicheli, violent clashes broke out between mostly young party-goers and the police in downtown St.Gallen. Obviously there was a lot of alcohol involved, chaotic scenes and property damage of tens of thousands of francs. More than a dozen shop windows were smashed between the Oberer Graben and the Church of St. The situation did not calm down until after midnight.
