NEW YORK (Dow Jones) – Nike has filed a trademark infringement lawsuit against a small company in the United States. The company, MSCHF Product Studio, in collaboration with rapper Lil Nas X, has brought out an individualized pair of sneakers with satanic motifs.

The red and black shoes caused a stir on social media at the beginning of the week. 666 pairs sold out quickly for a single price of $ 1,018, according to the Brooklyn-based company, which specializes in viral product marketing.

The sneakers have a red liquid in the sole that, according to MSCHF, contains a drop of blood. A reference to the Bible passage Luke 10, verse 18 is sewn on the side and a bronze pentagram is shown on the laces.

Nike distanced themselves from the product. “The Satan shoes were produced without Nike’s consent or authorization, and Nike is in no way affiliated with this project,” the sporting goods manufacturer said in a statement. You also have no relationship with Lil Nas X or MSCHF.
