With the 9 and 9 Pro, Oneplus brings two new luxury class smartphones. For the first time, the new partner Hasselblad helped with the camera development. The smartphones are also available in Switzerland.
Both versions use the current top processor Snapdragon 888 from Qualcomm and are also 5G-capable. The Oneplus 9 has a 6.55-inch Amoled display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, 2400 × 1080 pixels and a fingerprint sensor under the glass. In the Pro, the display offers 6.7 inches and 3216 × 1400 pixels. The 16-megapixel front camera sits in a small hole in the display on both models.
When charging the battery quickly, the included adapter provides 65W via cable, which should completely fill the power donor in about 40 minutes. For the first time, Oneplus is also integrating wireless charging, with 50W in the Pro and 15W in the basic model. The battery has a capacity of 4500 mAh. With the Pro, the housing is protected against dust and water according to IP68.
The Pro model has a quadruple camera with a 48-megapixel main lens and Sony IMX789 sensor, a 50-megapixel wide angle, a telephoto lens with 3.3x optical zoom and a monochrome lens. The new Hasselblad Pro mode is intended to bring particularly realistic colors to the photos and offers detailed setting options. In the base model 9, the triple camera has a slightly weaker IMX689 sensor from Sony, and the telephoto lens is not used here.
The new smartphones can be pre-ordered now and shipped from March 31, 2021. The sales partners include Mobilcom-Debitel, Sparhandy and Telekom. Both models are available with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB data storage or 12 and 256 GB. The 9 is available for 699 and 799 euros, the 9 Pro costs 899 and 999 euros.
