Habbel focuses in particular on wealth management topics as well as on all strategic CFO issues and financial organization.
“With the continuous expansion of our management team, we are underpinning our leading position in advising banks,” explains Bain partner Dr. Dirk Vater, who heads the Financial Services practice group in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). “We are pleased that Markus Habbel is another top manager who strengthens our company. From the perspective of the new Bain partner Habbel, banks and financial institutions face a number of challenges. “After the corona pandemic has subsided, sustainable growth will become a decisive success factor,” he is convinced. Wealth management plays a key role in this, as does asset management. Only together can the right priorities be set and resources and investments allocated accordingly.”
Habbel has more than 26 years of international professional experience in the banking and consulting industry. Before joining Bain again, he worked at UBS in Zurich, most recently as CFO of UBS Group EMEA and CFO Global Wealth Management. The 52-year-old was previously responsible for the Corporate Finance and Strategy practice group in Germany at a major strategy consultancy as a partner; he was also co-head of the European Private Banking practice group.
