SCL Tigers – Bern 4:5
Déjà-vu for the SCL Tigers: Emmental suffered their second defeat against SC Bern this week. On Tuesday, the SCB had already led 4: 1 after 8 minutes in the 4: 1 victory. On Saturday evening, the “Mutzen” reported significantly more difficulties. Until shortly before the last third break, coach Mario Kogler’s team was still 2: 3 behind. Ramon Untersander equalized before the second break and a double strike by Inti Pestoni and Jesper Olofsson paved the way for SCB to a 5-4 success. While Langnau lost for the 8th time in a row and for the 22nd time in the last 24 games, Bern won against the bottom of the table in the battle for a place in the pre-playoffs.
Ambri-Piotta – Lakers 2:4
Ambri-Piotta suffered a bitter defeat in the fight for the pre-playoffs. Against the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers, the Ticino lost 2: 4. The decision was brought about by Kevin Clark in the closing minutes. With a deflected shot (51st) and a hit into the empty goal (60th), the Canadian was concerned about the decision in favor of the Rapperswilers. The St. Gallen team are now 6 points ahead of the eleventh-placed Leventines.
Davos – Lugano 5: 6 nP
The pre-playoffs are as good as booked in Davos. So saving energy in a duel with the formally strong HC Lugano? Not at all. Although the Luganesi, who had lined up 7 wins, were apparently comfortably 4-1 in the front half of the game – but Davos equalized with 4 goals between the 36th and 42nd minute to make it 5: 5. Up until the penalty shoot-out there were no more goals in Landwassertal – 3 out of 4 Lugano shooters used their attempts there and thus made the 8th victory clear en suite.
Geneva Servette – Freiburg 2: 3
In the duel between the table neighbors between Freiburg and Geneva-Servette, the Saanestädter kept the better end to themselves. Coach Christian Dubé’s team made the difference in a narrow 3-2 win in the middle third with two goals. First, David Desharnais decided the duel against Geneva goalkeeper Gauthier Descloux for himself (22nd) and scored 2-0. Almost 10 minutes later, it was Nathan Marchon who, after the 1: 2 in Geneva in the meantime, restored the 2-goal lead after Mauro Jörg’s good preparatory work. While Friborg-Gottéron moved up to 4th place, Geneva suffered their 5th defeat in the last 6 games.
