“You loved the mountains – the mountains have brought you home.” These words were written above a post with which the team at the Spiezer Seaside Festival publicized the unbelievable, the tragic accidental death of its co-managing director Sacha Altermatt.

The 42-year-old family man was in the Blanc de Moming region shortly before 11 a.m. on Tuesday morning, above Zinal in the Val d’Anniviers, swept away by an avalanche. According to the Valais canton police, a mountain guide with four people was on the Tour du Ciel. Between the mountain huts Grand Mountet and Arpitettaz, an avalanche broke out for reasons that were not clear and tore a person, Sacha Altermatt, with it. The avalanche is said to be at an altitude of around 3450 m M. have solved. Rescue workers could only determine the death of the casualty.
