The women’s World Cup weekend in Jasna (Slovakia) began with the slalom on Saturday morning. After the first round, a duel between Mikaela Shiffrin and local hero Petra Vlhova is about to begin.

Host Petra Vlhova opened the race day with start number 1. The leader of the slalom classification had an excellent run, especially in the lower part of the course. At her time, all runners bit their teeth, only superstar Mikaela Shiffrin was able to keep up with the Slovakian until the second intermediate time. At the finish, Shiffrin with intermediate rank 2 was 0.27 seconds behind. After the first run, the Swiss Wendy Holdener (+0.40 seconds) is in third place, ahead of world champion Katharina Liensberger (Austria).
The Azzurre are fighting for a place in the top 15. At halftime, Federica Brignone is in 15th place, Irene Curtoni and Martina Peterlini did not make it into the top 15. There was no South Tyrolean at the start. The decisive second round starts at 12.30 p.m.
