Before the expected update 1.2 of Cyberpunk 2077, which should contain many improvements, the mood continues to sink. Still, there is a small ray of hope for CDPR: The 20 percent discount campaign ensures that the action RPG from the Polish developer is back in the top 10 on Steam.
Cyberpunk 2077 on Steam
Most recently, CD Projekt Red confirmed that update 1.2 is already being tested and that the release notes for it will be published soon. That could indicate that you will see the changelog this week – maybe even a little earlier than the patch itself. In principle, CD Projekt Red promised at the end of February that the patch would appear in the second half of March. So far there has been no change to this letter of intent, but time is of the essence. Strictly speaking, Update 1.2 would have to be released by Wednesday in order to successfully implement the plan.
On Steam, the short-term user ratings, i.e. those of the last 30 days, are still falling. Only 58 percent of the Steam reviewers gave their approval in this category, that was around 8,500 testers. The long-term evaluation with over 350,000 Steam users hardly affects this mathematically, here it remains at 77 percent approval. It is also interesting that the current discount on Cyberpunk 2077 (among others at GoG, but also on Steam) has ensured that Cyberpunk 2077 has landed in the top 10 of the Steam charts again after many weeks – even if only barely 10. But that should be a success for CDPR, because the title was last in the top 10 six weeks ago.
Background: Update 1.2
Time is running out for any hotfixes that might be required after the 1.2 update, as these would have to be completed by the middle of this week in order not to slip towards Easter. In Catholic Poland, Easter is likely to have a certain meaning. In the focus of the previously known changes in Update 1.2 for Cyberpunk 2077Police officers react too quickly, problems with vehicle control, vehicles get stuck and too many unintentional jumps.
