Airbus A220-300 from Jetblue: More range should be welcome.

In the summer of 2019, Airbus announced that it would increase the maximum take-off weight and thus the range of the A220. The maximum takeoff weight (in English Maximum Takeoff Weight or MTOW) of the larger variant rose to 69.9 tons. Airbus now specifies the range of the A220-300 as 3400 nautical miles or 6297 kilometers.

Now the manufacturer has given the A220-300 another surcharge. In the middle of the year, the maximum take-off weight will increase by another ton to 70.9 tons, Airbus manager Antonio Da Costa told Flightglobal magazine. This allows the plane to fly another 200 nautical miles or 370 kilometers.

No change for A220-100

Nothing changes this time on the smaller A220-100. It retains a maximum take-off weight of 63.1 tons and a range of 3450 nautical miles or 6390 kilometers.
