Because of the corona test obligation for customers before they go shopping, the Berlin retailer is setting up its own test stations. Health Senator Dilek Kalayci (SPD) said on March 30, 2021, that it had been agreed with retailers to provide test offers at shopping centers.
She also asked retailers to set up test points in supermarket parking lots. The know-how for this and the corresponding service providers are available. However, there is no compulsory test before shopping in the supermarket.
Organization of test opportunities starts in the coming days
The Berlin-Brandenburg trade association made it clear that the organization of test options for customers takes some time. Large department stores and shopping centers would start doing so in the next few days, said the chief executive of the Berlin-Brandenburg trade association, Nils Busch-Petersen, of the dpa. Questions are still unanswered, such as how shopkeepers can unequivocally check the test certificates and how they can obtain sufficient tests for their employees.
