  • Amazon shares a photo for the “Lord of the Rings” series that causes fans to be excited.
  • Can the mysterious title of the show be made out in the picture?
  • Twitter users make courageous guesses online as to what the title might be.

Probably the entire fantasy world and “The Lord of the Rings” actor Viggo Mortensen are looking forward to Amazon’s epic “The Lord of the Rings” series, which will take place a few millennia before the plot of the film trilogy. Even minor setbacks such as recasting an actor do not seem to be able to set Amazon’s mega-project back.

But there is one thing that Tolkien fans still miss: Amazon’s “The Lord of the Rings” series still has no official title!

For Tolkien Reading Day on March 25, 2021, Amazon production shared the above photo, on which the new director Wayne Che Yip’s name can be made out. According to Variety, the “Preacher” and “Doctor Who” veteran will sit on the director’s chair for Amazon’s “Lord of the Rings” series for 4 episodes.

However, “The Lord of the Rings” fans on Twitter were excited by the title of the new series from Middle-earth that can be seen in the picture above. Even if the black pen was used here, some, like Userin @reyswaffles, at least want to have made it out that the 1st word starts with a “J” and ends with a “P”:

Does the title of the “Lord of the Rings” series begin with “Journey”? That seems right. With the letter “P”, on the other hand, there is almost consensus online about the word “Project”, although many users point out that only the working title of the show is probably listed here. User @ samuel13310 therefore suggests that “JRR Tolkien’s Project” could be on the flap from the Twitter photo.

Nothing is certain about this yet, but probably in the coming months Amazon will present the title of its “The Lord of the Rings” series as well as first pictures or a first teaser trailer. Until then, you can find out everything you need to know about the new Middle-earth show on Netzwelt: “The Lord of the Rings” series Season 1: All the news and information about the start, plot and cast.
