The number of corona patients is also climbing up again in the Wels / Grieskirchen Clinic. On the Monday of the previous week, 33 Covid sufferers had to be treated, yesterday there were already 49. 29 are in the hospital in Wels and 20 in Grieskirchen, said press spokeswoman Kerstin Pindeus at the request of the OÖNachrichten. 14 of them are so seriously ill that they have to be looked after in the intensive care unit (eleven in Wels, three in Grieskirchen).
The average age of the patients has dropped to 67 years. At the height of the second wave in October and November, the average age was 70 years.
When asked whether patients had to be treated in the clinic after vaccinations, the hospital said: “Few patients were treated due to vaccination reactions and, in individual cases, were observed as inpatients.”
All clinic employees who wanted to be vaccinated have already been vaccinated.
