MotoGP FT3: Two riders with physical difficulties
Iker Lecuona had problems with arm pumps yesterday, which surprised him. Lorenzo Savadori is the clear bottom light so far. The Aprilia driver is still struggling with the consequences of a shoulder injury.
MotoGP FT3: Quartararo best time
Fabio Quartararo takes the lead with 1: 55.070 minutes. That means that there are still two seconds short of yesterday’s record. Since qualifying and the race take place in the evening, it is questionable why there are training sessions in the hot afternoon that hardly provide any knowledge.
MotoGP FT3: Two riders are waiting for crew chiefs
Maverick Vinales and Alex Marquez have to do without their crew chiefs. PCR tests were not conclusive. Both should be back in the pits on Sunday.
LCR has set up an internet connection to Christophe Bourguignon’s hotel room. On the track, Takeo Yokoyama coordinates the processes in the pits.
MotoGP FT3: hard tires
Most drivers opt for the hard tire front and rear, which is only intended for the hot afternoon. We won’t see this tire in the race. Yesterday, most of the drivers said that the soft tires in the front and rear were best for the race.
MotoGP FT3: Few on the track
After the first attempt it gets quieter because almost all of them are in the box. In this heat you can’t find a lot of knowledge for the night race. Miller is on the track with a second Ducati.
MotoGP FT3: Miller sits in the pits
The Australian didn’t go out on his second bike straight away. Johann Zarco has also waited and is only now intervening in training.
The top 10 are Morbidelli, Vinales, Quartararo, Rins, Oliveira, Martin, Nakagami, Aleix Espargaro, Joan Mir and Stefan Bradl.
MotoGP FT3: Three Yamaha in front
Most of the drivers have completed five laps. Franco Morbidelli leads the classification with 1: 55.124 minutes. Behind them are two other Yamaha riders, Vinales and Quartararo. Alex Rins and Miguel Oliveira round off the top 5.
But no driver has undercut his Friday time from the cool evening.
MotoGP FT3: Miller crash
At the end of his first flying lap, Jack Miller crashed into Turn 15. Nothing happened to the Australian. But of course that’s not good.
Yesterday he already damaged a new paneling (with the new attachments below) in a fall and now again. And Ducati doesn’t have that many in its luggage.
Miller also has to leave his Ducati in the gravel bed and walk towards the pit.
MotoGP FT3: It’s getting loud
Practice begins and Vinales practices a start again at the end of the pit lane. When it comes to tires, there is no agreement in the field, because we see a wide variety of combinations of soft, medium and hard.
MotoGP FT3: The world champion under pressure
Yesterday, Joan Mir just missed making it into Q2 in eleventh place. Whether MotoGP can undercut its times is very questionable after what we’ve seen in the small classes. If it doesn’t work, Mir will have to compete in Q1 in the evening.
Valentino Rossi would have qualified directly for Q2 in ninth place. Ducati rider Jack Miller set yesterday’s best time with 1: 53.387 minutes.

Moto2: Qualified directly for Q2
No driver could beat his time from last night. The FT3 result is therefore irrelevant for the overall result of the three free practice sessions. The following drivers are directly qualified for Q2:
Sam Lowes (Kalex)
Marco Bezzecchi (Kalex)
Joe Roberts (Kalex)
Xavi Virgo (Kalex)
Remy Gardner (Kalex)
Bo Bendsneyder (Kalex)
Nicolo Bulega (Kalex)
Raul Fernandez (Kalex)
Jake Dixon (Kalex)
Jorge Navarro (Boscoscuro)
Marcel Schrötter (Kalex)
Tony Arbolino (Kalex)
Tom Lüthi (Kalex)
Aron Canet (Boscoscuro)
Moto2 FT3: Checkered Flag
The training comes to an end. Aron Canet secured the best time with 2: 00.335 minutes. The Spaniard is almost three tenths of a second faster than Joe Roberts. Fabio di Giannantonio, Celestino Vietti and Sam Lowes complete the top 5.
Marcel Schrötter finished the session in seventh place. Tom Lüthi is 21.
Finally, Marcos Ramirez crashes into Turn 6, which is also where the long lap penalty is located. Barry Baltus was taken to the medical center for checks after his highsider.
Moto2 FT3: Best time Canet
Aron Canet takes the lead with 2: 00.559 minutes. The Spaniard drives the Boscoscuro chassis. This is Speed Up under a new name.
Moto2 FT3: The time hunt is on
The last five minutes are running and the timing monitor is showing some red sector times. Joe Roberts sets a new best time of 2: 00.626 minutes. Fabio di Giannantonio moves up to second place. But there is still a lot missing for yesterday.
Moto2 FT3: Heavy highsider
Barry Baltus limps towards the run-off zone. At the exit of turn 1, the Moto2 rookie was thrown off by a heavy highsider. He is in pain because he sits down on the floor in the gravel bed and waits for help.
