In the home office, during sports or in the queue in front of the supermarket: headphones are an integral part of everyday life. That is why there is now an almost unmanageable number of different models that are supposed to provide support in every situation … and Stiftung Warentest has tested (almost) all of them. The consumer organization has taken a closer look at 182 different Bluetooth headphones over the past few years and published the results again in the headphones special in the March issue of the “Test” magazine (2021).

Headphones for various requirements at Stiftung Warentest

As part of the special, Stiftung Warentest made recommendations for the best models for various everyday requirements. Regardless of whether you need active noise suppression for zoom chats, a tight fit is particularly important to you during sports or you attach great importance to top-quality sound, the experts know which pair of headphones is the right one for you.

So was tested

The respective test winners in the three categories “best sound”, “best noise reduction” and “best wearing comfort during sport” were determined by examining, among other things, the sound, additional interference, wearing comfort and handling, the Bluetooth connection and the durability of the headphones . Surprisingly, older models in particular scored points: Only four of the 30 headphones tested last made it into the favorites in the special. The consumer organization draws the conclusion: “The older ones are simply better”. But which are the best?
