There will be a special coronavirus vaccination campaign for all over-65s – as in the Schwaz district in Tyrol – between March 12 and 17 in Radstadt, Bad Hofgastein (both Pongau) and Unken (Pinzgau). The Salzburg provincial administration has now fixed that.
In Radstadt and Bad Hofgastein, vaccinations will take place between Friday and Sunday, Unken will be vaccinated from March 15th to 17th (Monday to Wednesday). The registration deadline for this vaccination campaign is next Wednesday, March 10th, at 12 noon. People over the age of 65 from these three communities who have not yet been registered for the coronavirus vaccination should register by then – either by telephone on the health hotline 1450 or on the Internet at www.salzburg-impft.at.
The State of Salzburg emphasizes that those who live in the municipalities but do not have their family doctor in town should contact the hotline 1450. Anyone who has already made a reservation for the vaccination will be contacted in the next few days to arrange a vaccination appointment.
1,600 to 1,700 participants expected
In Bad Hofgastein, vaccinations will take place between March 12 and 14 in the BORG gymnasium – the Red Cross is building a vaccination route there. In Radstadt and Unken, the vaccinations are carried out in the impfordinations. “With a participation of 70 percent, around 1,600 to 1,700 people will be immunized,” expects state health officer Christian Stöckl (ÖVP).
The reason for the vaccination campaign is the extremely high number of infections in the three communities – with a seven-day incidence of over 1,000 and over 2,000 in toads. At the same time, around 3,500 additional Biontech / Pfizer vaccination doses were available at short notice, according to the State of Salzburg.
